Urinary Surgery

Many women have complaints of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. If you leak urine with coughing, sneezing, laughing, lifting, you may be suffering from stress urinary incontinence (SUI). This can be fixed both surgically and non-surgically. The non-surgical options include pessary management. This is a plastic medical device that is placed into the vagina and supports the structures and can treat your incontinence. Surgical treatment is usually minimally invasive. Generally with the placement of either a transvaginal tape/sling (TVT) or Transobturator Tape/Sling (TOT) the urethra (where you urinate from) will be supported and return you to continence so you can throw away those pads. The procedure is outpatient and the recovery time is as short as a few weeks.
